10 Alternate Career Options a student can choose other than Engineering:

Since last 3 years more than 11 lakh 12th appearing or pass-out students of PCM and PCMB subject combinations(PCM: Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics while PCMB: Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology) appear for the JEE Main or Joint Entrance Examination Main. The examination serves as the largest entrance examination for Undergraduate Engineering admissions in India.

Most of the students appearing for the examination are actually forced into it by their parents or due to society’s pressure as mostly people in India see Engineering only as a good career option for Science Maths students after 10+2.

The biggest problem the students who are not good at Physics, Chemistry or Mathematics in 10+2 face is that they are not aware of other options which they can go for and default end up going for engineering.

This year with the Eligibility Criteria becoming more stringent for JEE Mains chances are most of the students opting for Low level private engineering colleges just to take admissions in B.Tech course.

While there is definitely Medical and Dental fields as career options for the PCMB candidates but the PCM students are always left in confusion.
