Though not going for the obvious common career choices after engineering, these people made it big in their respective fields.

Yes The guy who you have seen as playing M.S.Dhoni in theaters from last few days was once an engineering student. As a student, he was academically good and was a national Olympiad winner in Physics.
He even secured an All India rank-7 in AIEEE (Now JEE Main) through which he got admitted in Delhi College of Engineering. He was in 3rd year of engineering before dropping out to pursue an acting career.
He started his debut Kai Po Che!(2013), for which he received critical acclaim as well as three Best Male Debut awards He had his biggest commercial success with the role of a Pakistani Muslim in the fantasy drama PK (2014), which ranks among the highest-grossing Indian films. And with the release of M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story, his popularity soars and the role was critically acclaimed as well. For the movie he was trained professionally by some leading cricketers and he spend hours in the nets for mastering those trademark cricketing shots of Mahendra Singh Dhoni.
Well the guy who recently made into the Forbes list of 100 richest young Indians. The man who has built the highest valued startup from India- Flipkart.
Sachin studied at the esteemed IIT Delhi from 2000 to 2005.
In 2006, he joined Amazon.com India as Senior Software Engineer. Then he got Binny Bansal into the Amazon.com and after 6 months they both decided to leave Amazon. They initially thought of starting a comparison search engine but realized that the market for E-commerce in India was very small. Hence, after leaving Amazon in 2007, they founded Flipkart as an E-commerce company.
Not many of you might know that Binny and Sachin Bansal are not related to each other biologically, while most people think them as the Bansal Brothers.
Arunabh Kumar was from Bihar, After completing his masters in Electrical Engineering from IIT Kharagpur, Kumar worked as a research consultant at Accenture. He was the assistant director of the Indian movie Om Shanti Om. Arunabh is the CEO of TVF Media Labs. But the CEO in his title means Creative Experiment Officer and not Chief Executive Officer.
Before TVF series on YouTube, Arunabh went to MTV with the concept, they liked the idea but rejected the proposal. Little did they know that they were actually doing Arunabh a favour.

Harsha who definitely makes into the list of favorite commentators of every cricket fan, subsequently studied chemical engineering at Osmania University at Hyderabad. After his Post-graduation from IIM Ahmedabad, he joined an advertising agency and worked there for two years, following which he completed another two-year stint at a sports management company.
Bhogle began his career as a cricket player for the APCA and has played small level cricket. Then he started commentating at the age of 19 with All India Radio.
Well Most of you would not know this: Harsha was the first Indian commentator to be invited by the Australian Broadcasting Corporation during India’s series prior to the 1992 World Cup. Before TV commentary, Harsha was primarily a radio commentator before focusing on TV commentary and this was his first real stint with it.

Arvind Kejriwal is an Indian politician who is the Chief Minister of Delhi since February 2015. He previously served as Chief Minister from December 2013 to February 2014, stepping down after 49 days. He is the national convener of the Aam Aadmi Party.
Kejriwal graduated from the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur and worked in the Indian Revenue Service as a Joint Commissioner of the Income Tax Department in New Delhi.
Not many of you would know this at the time he was an Income Tax Officer, he started an NGO informally. It was called Parivartan and helped people to get their work done in the tax department without paying any bribes
Kejriwal initially wanted to be a doctor. But he rebelled against the family to enter the Indian Institute of Technology at Kharagpur, where he opted to study mechanical engineering.
At work, he refused to have a peon, cleaned his own desk, emptied his dustbin and studiously avoided office get-togethers. A man who is apparently averse to ceremony, he does not celebrate his birthday and those of his children.
