About College :

Ch. Brahm Prakash Government Engineering College (CBPGEC) is a premier government engineering institute located inDelhi, India. It was established by the Department of Training and Technical Education, Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi in 2007 and was named after the first Chief Minister of Delhi, Chaudhary Brahm Prakash. The aim of the Government of NCT of Delhi is to develop this college as a centre of excellence in Civil engineering and Environmental engineering. The college is affiliated to Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, a state university established by the Government of NCT of Delhi. The institute is amongst the only four government institutes (Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, Delhi Technological University, Jamia Millia Islamia) in Delhi which offer Civil engineering. It is the only college in Delhi after Delhi technological university to provide Btech in environmental engineering.

Ch. Brahm Prakash Government Engineering College is located in Jaffarpur Kalan, South-West Delhi. The 8.5 acre campus is surrounded by Ch. Brahm Prakash Industrial Training Institute and Jawahar Navodaya Vidhyalaya.

Entry to The College

Hostel facility for students is available in the campus of Ambedkar University Delhi. The college also hosts the EDUSAT facility for teaching via video conferencing. The college has a multi-purpose hall which is fully air conditioned. The college has facilities for various outdoor sports with a field for Cricket, Football, a dedicated Badminton court and a Basketball court. For indoor sports, two table tennis tables are available for students. The campus also has an open-air-amphitheatre with a seating capacity of approximately 200 people. Various functions and shows for entertainment purposes are held in this amphitheatre. The campus is located in a semi-urban village which provides wide access to open land for surveying and other major fields of study in Civil engineering. Gymnasium facility is available for students, faculty and staff. It has huge expanse of agricultural land nearby which are a boon for environmental students as they can monitor air and soil samples.

The college was inaugurated by Former Chief Minister of Delhi Smt. Sheila Dikshit in 2007. In a comparison to the sanctioned intake in degree-level courses of engineering in metropolitan cities, Delhi had the lowest intake compared to Bangalore, Mumbai, Chennai, Pune etc. All this led to the establishment of Ch. Brahm Prakash Government Engineering College.

The college plans to offer graduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs in Engineering and Science and to enroll 2,000 students. The Government of NCT of Delhi has approved the creation of a Center of Advanced Studies and Research for Disaster Mitigation Management, Environmental Monitoring and Forecasting, in the campus of the college.
