About Exam :

SET 2017:

SET 2017 or Symbiosis Entrance Test 2017 will be conducted tentatively in the 1st week of May, 2017. There are 5 papers of the examination namely Law, Health Sciences, Engineering, Design and General. The Candidates will have to choose one among the five to appear for SET 2017 depending upon the courses which they want to pursue.

The SET 2017 score will be used for admissions into the under graduate courses of the various constituent colleges of Symbiosis International University.

SET 2017 Application Form:

The SET 2017 Application Form will be available online tentatively from the 2nd week of February, 2017. The Application Form will be available on www.set-test.org and will be available till the 2nd week of April, 2017. The Students can also apply for SET here once it is made available by the Symbiosis International University.

The Steps to be followed for filling the SET 2017 Application Form are as follows:

Step 1:  A candidate can register for one paper from the morning session; viz, Law or Design and one paper from the afternoon session; viz,General or Engineering or Health Sciences Register at www.set-test.org This will generate your SET ID.

For Engineering and Health Sciences, a candidate need not register for SET if he / she wishes to offer scores of entrance tests other than SET [such as JEE(Main)]. Such candidate may apply directly to the concerned institute.

You need to upload your latest scanned photograph (in the given format and size) at the time of online registration.

Step 2:  Pay a non-refundable fee of Rs. 1500/- towards the test fee and for prospectus of undergraduate programmes of Symbiosis International University. The SIU Admission Cell will courier a copy of prospectus to the address registered at www.set-test.org

Candidates have five choices for payment as follows:

  1. ONLINE PAYMENT THROUGH CREDIT CARD: Ø You may pay directly through either Master or Visa card online. Follow the instructions given in the SET website.
  2. ONLINE PAYMENT THROUGH NET BANKING: Ø You may transfer your SET test fee to Symbiosis Test Secretariat account using Net Banking option.
  3. ONLINE PAYMENT THROUGH INDIAN BANK NET BANKING: Ø You may pay your SET test fee to Symbiosis Test Secretariat account. You can also pay the application fee for various institutes through Indian Bank Internet Banking option.
  4. CASH: Ø This „Payment Advice‟ form is in three parts. Pay Rs. 1500/- in cash at Axis Bank or Indian Bank branches in your city. Refer to the list of branches on the website. The bank will return two parts of the „payment advice‟ form to you. The „student copy‟ is your receipt. Ø Sign the Symbiosis copy of the „Payment Slip‟ form stamped by Axis Bank or Indian Bank and send it to:- Symbiosis Test Secretariat Symbiosis International University Gram: Lavale, Tal: Mulshi, Dist: Pune – 412115.
  5. DEMAND DRAFT: Ø Get a crossed demand draft for Rs. 1500/- from any Nationalized Bank in favour of “Symbiosis Test Secretariat” payable at Pune. Sign the single copy of the „payment advice‟ for Demand Draft and send it along with Demand Draft to the Symbiosis Test Secretariat at,

It is also mandatory to complete registration by filling up the on line application form of desired institute for desired programme before the closing date of application of the respective institute.

 

SET 2017 Eligibility:

The SET 2017 Eligibility Criteria for Law (SLS Pune, SLS Noida and SLS Hyderabad) are as follows:

The candidate should have passed XII (10+2) examination from any recognized Board with a minimum of 45% marks (40% for S.C. /S.T. candidates). Students who have appeared for their Standard XII final examination and are awaiting results are also eligible to apply, subject to submission of passing certificate at the time of the final admission.

The SET 2017 Eligibility Criteria for Design (SID) are as follows:

Essential: A candidate must have passed 10+2 (any stream; eg. Science, Commerce, Arts, etc.) or equivalent OR 10+3 diploma approved by State Board of Technical Education with minimum 50% aggregate marks obtained in the final examination to be eligible for the abovementioned program. A candidate appearing for the final examination of 10+2 grade or 10+3 Diploma program may also apply provided the results of the examination should have been declared by June of the admission year or prior to be eligible for the above mentioned program.

Desirable: The candidate should possess Creative Aptitude & Skills necessary to pursue Design Education as well as adoptability to the situations, which the profession demands.

Candidates with the relevant portfolio would be preferred.

The SET 2017 Eligibility Criteria for General are as follows:

SICSR: XII standard examination pass from any stream or equivalent diploma in Engineering / Technology with minimum 50% marks (45% for SC / ST category candidates)

SCMS:

Indian Students:

  1. Passed XII or equivalent course in any discipline from any recognized Board/ Council/ University with minimum 50% marks for general (open) category and 45% marks for students of SC and ST category.
  2. Qualifying the Symbiosis Entrance Test (SET), Personal Interaction and Written Ability Test (PI-WAT) of our Centre. Indian Students will be admitted on the basis of merit list drawn out of the results of the selection process through SET and (PI-WAT).

International Students: Admission of all International students is done through International Office of Symbiosis International University (SCIE). To check if you are an international Student, refer to www.scie.ac.in

SSLA:

  1. Students graduating 12th from National / State Board and Non Resident Indians (NRI) students appearing for their 12th examinations in India.
  2. Symbiosis Entrance Test (SET) is mandatory for all applicants, except those who graduate 12th from the International Baccalaureate (IB) board.
  • Foreign Nationals (FN), Persons of Indian Origin (PIO) & NRIs must apply through the Symbiosis Center for International Education (SCIE).
  1. Diploma holders of International Baccalaureate (IB): IB Diploma Students with predicted scores may also apply: IB students are exempt for SET since their final exams clash with the SET exam dates.
  2. XII (10+2) pass from any branch with minimum 50% marks for the general category and 45% for students of SC and ST category.

 

The SET 2017 Eligibility Criteria for Engineering (SIT) are as follows:

Indian Students:

  • Passed 10+2 examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Biology/ Technical Vocational subject
  • Obtained at least 50% marks (45% in case of candidate belonging to reserved category) in the above subjects taken together
  • Good score in an entrance examination like SET (Symbiosis Entrance Test) or JEE-Main conducted in the year 2016

International Students (Foreign Nationals /Non Resident Indians/PIO):

  • Passed 10+2 examination with Physics, Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry / Biotechnology / Biology / Technical vocational subject.
  • Obtained at least 50% marks (45% in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST category) in the above subjects taken together. Do not have to appear for entrance exam (SET/JEE-Main) in India.
  • International student’s eligibility as per SCIE norms.

The SET 2017 Eligibility Criteria for Health Sciences are as follows:

SIHS: Std. XII Pass with any two of the following subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Botany, Zoology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Mathematics OR equivalent as decided by competent authority.

SCON:

  1. The minimum age for admission shall be 17 years on or before 31st Dec. of the year of admission.
  2. The minimum educational requirements shall be the passing of – Higher Secondary school certificate Examination (12 years course), OR Senior School certificate Examination (10+2), OR pre-degree Examination (10+2), OR An equivalent with 12 years schooling from a recognized board or university with science (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) and English with minimum of 45% aggregate marks (PCBE).
  3. Further 5% relaxation is permitted to SC/ST students.
  4. Candidates shall be medically fit.

 

SET 2017 Exam Pattern:

The SET Exam Pattern 2017 can be summarized as follows:

Number of Papers:  5 (Law, Design, General, Engineering and Health Sciences).

Type of Exam:  Objective.

Negative Marking:  No Negative Marking.

Total Duration: 150 Minutes.

SET 2017 Admit Card:

The SET 2017 Admit Card will be available for download on the official website of SET: www.set-test.org . The SET Admit Card 2017 will be available tentatively from 2 weeks before the examination.

 

SET 2017 Result:

SET Result 2017 will be declared tentatively in the 3rd week of May, 2017. The SET Result 2017 can be seen online on the SET Official Website: www.set-test.org .

Once the SET Result 2017 is declared by the Symbiosis International University, it can also be seen here by the candidates. The SET Result 2017 will show the candidate’s score in the paper which the candidate has appeared for. On the basis of this score a minimum cut off will be declared by the constituent colleges for further rounds of selection like PI/GD/WAT etcetera.

 

SET 2017 Counselling Procedure:

The SET Counselling Procedure will start immediately after the SET Result is declared online on www.set-test.org . The Counselling Procedure will be conducted in various stages and rounds for the different colleges depending upon their selection criteria.

The various selection rounds used by the colleges for further selection after short listing the candidates from SET include PI or Personal Interview, WAT or Written Ability Test etcetera.
